Welcome to the Official Website of Sarah Shire! Sarah is a 19-year-old collegiate gymnast. She has been a competitive gymnast since the age of three. She trained at the Great American Gymnastics Express in Blue Springs, Missouri under coaches Al and Armine Barutyan-Fong. Sarah came to them in July 2001, since that time, she has gone from Level 10 to senior international elite with several international competitions under her belt (Pacific Challenge, DeHypothekeep Shop, DTB Cup, Cottbus Cup, and Chunichi Cup).

Sarah's original goal was to compete at the 2004 Olympic Trials, she fell just shot of that as she was the first alternated and had to watch from the sidelines. During that time she learned a lot about herself. Sarah is still determined to be the best gymnast that she can be. On November 9th, 2005, Sarah signed her Letter of Intent to compete for University of Utah for 2006-2007. Sarah specialized on the balance beam and vault tallying career highs of 9.95 in both events. She helped the Utah Utes to finish second at the 2007 NCAA Championships. Soon as the season was over, Sarah transferred to University of Missouri where she is currently a collegiate gymnast, during her sophomore year.
